Marriage

In the summer of 1924, while on furlough in Victoria visiting his mother and sister, Pearkes met and fell in love with Constance Blytha Copeman.  They became engaged and were married in August 1925.  A daughter, Priscilla Edith ("Pep"), was born in 1928, followed by a son, John Andre, born in 1931.  Sadly, Pep, while still in the hospital after her birth, suffered an infection which led to a succession of illnesses, and she died while still a young child.
