1962-63
SPECIAL EVENTS

The Special Events Committee has as its prime duty the task of presenting to the students, events of cultural importance and interest.  The programmes are varied, ranging from the modern jazz to lectures on the sex life of necrophiliacs. Last year the programme included folk music by Kell Winzey, Sonny Terry and Brownie McGhee; classical piano by Robin Wood, and Patricia Perrin; classical guitar by Robert Neveu; jazz by the Al Neil Quintet, and the P.J. Perry Quintet; lectures by the Cuban Ambassador Dr. Cruz, Dr. Brock Chisholm, and the Swami Maharaj; drama by the Intimate Stage; and a special concert at the College by the Victoria Symphony Orchestra.  There were also two concerts by Rolf Harris which defy categorization.

This year's programme promises to be just as varied and interesting.  Concerts will be presented featuring the Dorian Woodwind Quintet, and Susana y Jose, a Spanish dancing troupe.  The Committee is also special entertainment for the "Homecoming" and "Twirp" dances.

We hope that all the students will attend the presentations of the S.E.G. Mainly because it looks better that way.  And besides, nowhere else can so many see so much for so little.

DANCE TIMETABLE (1962-63)

Student Organizations wishing to hold a dance may apply to the Students' Council for permission to hold their dance on one of the undermentioned dates...
