P: Louise Pearkes, formerly Blair.... She was of Scottish descent from Ayrshire. [Her father] was an engineer in the Engineering Department of the London, Brighton and South Coast Railway. R: What are your earliest memories of your mother? As a very, very young boy? When you think of her, how do you think of her? P: I remember her as a rather good-looking person who stayed very much at home. She wasn't very socially inclined, as far as I can remember from the early days. |
